Jumping into spring with our top essential oils

Spring is the perfect time to let go of the winter blues and enjoy the start of new life. As the air warms up, the scent of blooming flowers fills the air and the days are longer, it’s the ideal time to start using natural remedies. Essential oils are becoming increasingly popular as an effective way to improve physical, mental and emotional health. Here, we take a look at some of the top essential oils for spring and how to use them, to help you make the most of the season with Essentria.

Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender essential oil is one of the most popular essential oils and for good reason! Its aroma is calming and soothing and it has many healing properties. It is known as a natural pain reliever, anti-inflammatory and helps to fight depression, stress and anxiety.

Chamomile Essential Oil

Chamomile is another popular essential oil that has a sweet and soothing aroma. It’s known to help ease pain, reduce inflammation, and aid in relaxation. To use chamomile essential oil in aromatherapy, add a few drops of the oil to a diffuser or oil burner and enjoy the fragrance in your home. You can also add a few drops to your bath or you can mix it with a carrier oil and apply it to your skin.

Grapefruit Essential Oil

Grapefruit essential oil has a tart and sweet scent that is uplifting and energizing. It’s known to help fight depression, stress, anxiety, and can also help to reduce fatigue.

Lemon Essential Oil

Lemon essential oil has a refreshing and invigorating aroma that can help to lift your mood and energize your body. It’s known to help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression and also helps to boost your immune system.

Peppermint Essential Oil

Peppermint essential oil has a sharp and minty aroma that can help to boost your energy levels. It’s known to help reduce pain, inflammation, and can also help to clear your mind.

To use these essential oils, simply add 3-4 total drops of oil to a diffuser and diffuse for 30-60 minutes taking a 60-minute break before diffusing again. You can also add a few drops to 1/2 cup of Epsom salts and a tsp of carrier oil and swish it into your bath water and soak for 20 minutes, or you can mix it with a carrier oil such as jojoba oil and apply it to your skin. Make sure when applying topically that you are following safe dilution to avoid sensitization.
